Montrose council approves River Ridge Estates re-plat outside city limits

The Montrose City Council on May 12 approved Resolution No. 2026-005 to accept the survey and re-plat for Lot 2 of River Ridge Estates Addition so an applicant may proceed with a new house build outside city limits but within a two-mile radius of the city boundary. Applicant Jenna Duxbury presented the request and the council recorded that Duxbury had previously received council permission in 2025 to access city water service.
The council voted in favor of Action 26-053 with a roll call showing "all favored; no opposition." Brosz Engineering prepared the survey and re-plat that the council accepted. The approval authorizes the re-plat as described in Resolution No. 2026-005; any utility connections and final permitting remain subject to standard city procedures and conditions the council or staff may impose.
