Fairfield County reports 0.00% SNAP payment error rate in March sample

County Administrator Aundrea Cordle and JFS Director Corey Clark reported on the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services’ newly required county-level quality control reviews for SNAP cases. Fairfield County’s March 2026 sample returned a 0.00% SNAP payment error rate, with no payment errors identified in the cases reviewed; statewide preliminary results for March were 6.87% and Ohio’s official FY2025 rate was 6.76%.
Corey Clark previously noted the county’s performance compared with state averages and the department will continue monthly reviews under the new reporting system. The Board also acknowledged a thank-you letter from Lorain County for Fairfield County JFS assistance during a period of staff reductions in Lorain that helped maintain benefit continuity for affected families.
