Council hears water-leak fixes, hydrant replacement pending and pool staffing needs for summer

Finance Officer Nicole Siemonsma reported that the city has addressed three water leaks and staff expect the repairs to reduce water loss in coming usage months. Council discussed that Twedt Construction has not yet started agreed-upon city projects and that replacement water hydrants have not been ordered.
Council also reviewed staffing needs for the seasonal city pool, noting the need for another manager and a couple of lifeguards; the minutes record that the pool will hopefully open in May around the Memorial Day holiday but a firm opening date and hires were not specified. Councilmember Binder asked about street-broom operation and requested maintenance clean leftover chip-seal rock from 2025 work.
