Council members reviewed proposals for replacement of the city's watershed shed during the June 9 meeting. Council Hanisch and Finance Officer Nicole Siemonsma presented a Proehl Construction estimate to replace the watershed and a Cleary Building Corp. estimate to replace just the shed building; the Cleary price excluded electrical, underground work and concrete. The finance officer will ask Cleary for an adjusted 16x16 bid and council members will prepare underground plumbing, above-ground plumbing and concrete bid scopes for inclusion in the 2027 budget.
No formal construction contract was approved at the meeting; the matter will be discussed at future meetings after additional bids and clarifications are received. The council also received a brief update on other recreation facility work, including a status update on pickleball post installation.
