The Montrose City Council approved a motion to have Dells Materials Co. coat about 435 feet of East Main Street near the softball field in late May to reduce dust accumulation in the neighborhood. Councilmember Vogel moved the contract approval and Councilmember Binder seconded; the motion passed on a unanimous roll call.
Councilmembers also discussed a parallel dust-control effort with Central Farmers Coop, with the city agreeing to pay treatment for the stretch from My Place Café to the softball building area and requesting that Central Farmers Coop treat its main traffic road from the shop to the scale to further mitigate dust for nearby residents. No dollar amount for the city contribution was listed in the minutes.
