Montrose city council certifies June 2 municipal election and presents certificates

The Montrose City Council on June 9 unanimously approved the official canvas for the June 2 municipal election and accepted related administrative items. Mayor Susan Painter presided and Finance Officer Nicole Siemonsma presented the corrected recap sheet the election board completed on June 4; the council certified the canvas by unanimous roll call (Action 26-069).
Council members reviewed poll books and verified that 41 Ward 2 voters were included in the board's totals and matched the recap sheet. A candidate withdrawal form from Mary Fox was submitted and the finance officer presented certificates of election for Justin Scheff and Jasen Hansich. No discrepancies were noted by council members during the canvas review.
