Montrose awards $92,278.75 contract to resurface Church Avenue and Dakota/1st intersection

At its Dec. 9 meeting, the Montrose City Council approved a street-resurfacing contract with Twedt Construction for $92,278.75 to remove, reshape and replace Church Avenue from Main Street to Elder Street and to remove and replace the intersection of Dakota Avenue and First Avenue with 3 inches of asphalt (Action 25-158). Councilmember Vogel moved the motion and Councilmember Scheff seconded; the vote was unanimous.
The council clarified the contract covers city roadway only (up to 18 feet from center) and does not include private curb or gutters. The project will be funded from the general-fund street budget and is planned to commence in summer 2026.
