Chairman Kyle Nix introduced the Sheriff's Department request for five Dodge Durangos and one 2026 Dodge Ram 2500; the meeting record notes one Durango is being replaced through insurance. Councilman Jake Blackman moved to approve the $256,000 vehicle purchase appropriation; Castetter seconded and the motion passed 6–0. Councilman Richard Gerdon then moved a separate $75,000 appropriation to upfit the new vehicles; Blackman seconded and that motion also passed 6–0.
The appropriations authorize procurement of the vehicles and allow the sheriff’s office to begin outfitting them with lights, radios and other required equipment.
