"So what I'm asking you tonight, if you're gonna vote yes to send it to county, is when it goes back to committee, go through all your line items," Alfano said, arguing the district could find about a 2% reduction and noting that a 0.5% change affects taxpayers by roughly $300 on average. His remarks framed much of the public-comment period and were echoed by other residents who expressed concern about transparency and communications.
