Board members approved the minutes from July 8 (regular and executive session), accepted staff resignations effective earlier in August — including Ned Lease (Tech Ed teacher, resignation effective Aug. 1, 2024), Justyna Schmidt (Speech/Language teacher, resignation effective Aug. 7, 2024) and Tina Halverson (Spanish teacher, resignation effective Aug. 12, 2024) — and confirmed a slate of new staffing assignments such as Alison Sauter (Speech & Language at BKE) and Gina Collins (Spanish Teacher at OMS). The consent vote also accepted a donation from the Magee Family of Spanish editions of Charlotte’s Web and Green Eggs and Ham for the FES library.
Board President Krista Flanagan "thanked those who generously donated to the Oregon School District," according to the minutes. The roll call on the Consent Calendar recorded six yes votes and no dissent; the motion passed 6-0.
The consent action preserves the district's cash-flow and staffing plans going into the school year; no implementation tasks or follow-up reporting were recorded in the minutes for these items.
