Union City Borough Council voted unanimously to approve a resolution supporting Erie County’s effort to create a new countywide comprehensive housing plan. Councilor Osborn moved and Councilor Steadman seconded the resolution; the motion carried without dissent.
The minutes state the county will use funding from a MAP grant and Act 137 (the Affordable Housing Act) funds derived from housing deed transfers to develop recommendations to improve housing quality and affordability. Councilors noted several borough residents have submitted applications for Act 137 funds based on income.
