Board approves routine finance, personnel and policy motions; schedules executive session

The Hardyston Township Board of Education voted to approve routine finance motions F1–F6 and related fiscal items, and to approve personnel items P1–P6 as listed on the meeting agenda. Clerk roll call showed the motions carried by affirmative votes from all members present.
Board members also acted on policy items. POL1 was approved on its second reading; POL2 was presented and discussed as a first reading (board members debated equity language and potential impacts on the gifted and talented program); and POL3 — a packet of obsolete policies identified for abolishment — was approved on the motion. "This is a first reading," one board member said of POL2, noting that committee review had shaped the language. The chair moved the board into executive session for legal matters and scheduled that session to begin at 7:30 p.m.
