At the Oct. 23 meeting, Principal Trent Matthiesen reported on Bartlett Middle School’s academic programs and campus activities, highlighting CAASPP score growth and social-emotional learning improvements and recognizing staff contributions from Campus Supervisor Miguel Alvarez and Mrs. Guerrero, an eighth‑grade science teacher and AVID coordinator.
Student board representatives Laura Inestroza (Porterville High School) and Coco Navarro (Porterville Military Academy) provided updates on student leadership events, rallies, Club Rush, homecoming activities, fall sports achievements, academy programs and the debut of PMA’s school mascot. The reports were informational and received by the board with expressions of appreciation from trustees.
These updates were presented as part of regular school reports and required no board action.
