The Governing Board of Trustees of Porterville Unified School District on Oct. 23 approved the tentative Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the Porterville Education Association covering 2024–2026 and authorized district administration to sign the Disclosure of Collective Bargaining Agreement Certifications.
Assistant Superintendent Brad Rohrbach provided an overview before Trustee Pete Lara moved to approve the agreement and Mr. Felipe Martinez seconded. The motion carried with all five members present voting aye. The action follows a public disclosure step in which no public comments were received.
Superintendent Nate Nelson had earlier requested that Personnel Report No. 07-26 be pulled from consent for separate discussion after closed session; that personnel report was later revised and approved. The board’s approval of the PEA tentative CBA signals the district’s next procedural step of finalizing documentation and executing certification forms required under state collective bargaining disclosure rules.
