Union City Borough Council on Oct. 7 approved designating $39,060.20 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to cover stormwater repairs in Municipal Lot #1 and to close a catch basin in Hogan’s Alley. Borough Manager Cindy Wells told the council the borough’s ARPA balance is $194,413 and that $160,000 had previously been designated toward the Willow Street Bridge, with $25,000 of that already spent.
The motion to spend $39,060.20 was made by Councilor Joyce and seconded by Councilor Steadman and carried, according to the minutes. The allocation follows staff reports that identified stormwater work required to address the catch-basin issue in Hogan’s Alley and associated repairs to Municipal Lot #1.
