Town Manager Rob Gaiotti told the Selectboard that 35 short-term rental (STR) units have been registered in Dorset under the town's registration program. He said the town identified roughly 15–20 additional units on rental portals that had not yet registered and that staff will send more formal communications to those owners.
Gaiotti said the rental software has generally been useful; a couple of owners have complained about paying the registration fee, but most have had no issues. The board did not take additional formal action at this meeting beyond the update; staff will continue outreach to encourage registration compliance.
