During the July 27 meeting, County Judge Keith Schroeder reported June collections of $9,052.70 in misdemeanor fees for County Court and $10,774.00 in felony fees for District Court. He cautioned that the county's tax rate "may have to go up due to the loss of minerals valuations and appraised values."
The County Auditor reported sales tax receipts of $152,105 (an increase of 34.6% compared with July 2025 and up 9% year-to-date) and presented a preliminary FY2027 budget summary comparison and a FY2026 budget/allocation of tax rates. Commissioners recorded the financial reports and discussed that reduced mineral valuations could require adjustments to the fiscal year tax rate setting process.
