At the May 18, 2026 meeting Jessy Willadsen reviewed FY26 Environmental Health financials through April: department expenditures totaled $100,744.55 with $47,677.45 remaining; the FY2026 budget was 83.29% complete while departmental expenditures were at 67.90%; revenues through April totaled $83,006.17. Jessy also reported operational activity: 27 well water tests, nine septic permits issued, three well permits issued, two well pluggings, and septic pump truck inspections.
Jessy stated the FY27 Private Well Grant application submitted to the State of Iowa had been approved; minutes record the county-level grant amount at $30,303, with potential for additional reallocation funding. The board designated Jessy Willadsen as the required signatory authority for the grant (motion by Joanne Robinson; seconded by Denise Pavlovich; minutes record all present voted aye and "the motion carried 30"). The board discussed outreach priorities for well testing while acknowledging funding limitations.
