Commissioners say storm-damaged Burleson County roads cleared, grants to assist repairs

David Besly, speaking for grant projects during the public forum, told the Commissioners Court that Chestnut Road in Cade Lake Estates has been approved to continue roadway work after rain-related delays and that the bridge on Mallard Road in Beaver Creek should receive an extension from the General Land Office because of last week’s flooding. The court later discussed countywide cleanup and repair needs.
Commissioners Vincent Svec, David Hildebrand and Robert “Bobby” Urbanosky reported crews have been repairing washed-out roads, culverts and potholes and clearing trees and limbs from county roads after the storms. The court approved a Temporary Right of Way Request related to water work for Wildfire Energy I, LLC on County Roads 222, 224, 229 and 286, clearing the way for utility work connected to recovery and rebuilding efforts. The court gave unanimous approval on the related motions.
