Public Health Nursing board continues Clarke County 28E; county eyes regional fiscal agent role

At the July 7 meeting Chair Chris Moore reported the Public Health Nursing board voted to continue a 28E agreement with Clarke County for Environmental Health Services for FY27 and said Wayne County Public Health Nursing plans to issue an RFP to be the fiscal agent for a proposed seven‑county region.
Chair Chris Moore told the Board that the Public Health Nursing (PHN) Board voted to continue a 28E agreement with Clarke County for Environmental Health Services for FY27. Moore said the PHN Board also discussed merging Public Health and Homemakers programs and that the merger is running smoothly.
Moore told supervisors the Public Health Nursing Department is looking to submit a request for proposals to serve as the fiscal agent for a seven‑county region under discussion. He also said he would like to see the county Public Health Board reduced back to five members now that program consolidation is functioning, and that these items will be pursued through the PHN Board process.
