The council delayed action on a park-use application for the Ammerman Family Reunion planned for Oct. 10, 2026, requesting additional materials before approval. Council members asked the applicant for a traffic control plan for about 200 guests, written approval from Columbia Bank to use its parking lot, comments from the Police Chief, and confirmation from Public Works that restrooms and the splash pad could support the crowd; the council also suggested the applicant pay for any required porta-potties.
Councilor Grace Howell moved to continue the request to the July 23, 2026 council meeting at 6:00 p.m. so those materials could be provided; Councilor Barb Gregory seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The continuation allows staff and police to review safety and logistical plans before a final decision.
