The Rogue River City Council on May 28 adopted the 2026–27 fiscal year budget and levied a permanent tax rate of $3.1492 per $1,000 of assessed value and $112,200 for general obligation bonds under Resolution 26-1474-R. The resolution passed with recorded yes votes from Councilors Minegar, Hilty, Moss and Howell; Councilor Barb Gregory was absent.
Finance Officer Paige Chick told the council that a newspaper notice of the budget had misaligned column entries, producing incorrect line-item figures in print, but she emphasized the totals and the budget approved by the budget committee are unchanged. "Where debt service was listed as $2.8 million dollars, it is really $253,000.00," Chick said, and she corrected other shifted totals, reporting the unappropriated ending balance as $3,374,301.66. The council discussed the printed notice only to confirm the accounting error did not change the adopted budget.
The motion to adopt the budget was moved by Councilor Barb Hilty and seconded by Councilor Sherrie Moss; the full council vote recorded four ayes and no nays. The resolution finalizes appropriations for the city and establishes the tax levy required for the coming fiscal year. The council made no further amendments and the budget takes effect per the city's normal fiscal procedures.
