The Governing Body of the City of Neodesha approved ORDINANCE NO. 1823 at its Oct. 8, 2025 meeting, authorizing the enforcement officer to abate the dwelling located at 1305 North 8th Street. The ordinance authorizes the city to invite bids, negotiate contracts or use city employees to raze and make the premises safe; it allows the sale of any salvage and authorizes financing costs from salvage proceeds, the general fund, or by levying special assessments against the lots if necessary.
Commissioner Banzet moved to approve Ordinance 1823, Commissioner Truelove seconded, and the motion carried. The ordinance text and the governing body set a compliance deadline giving the property owner until November 12, 2025 to begin repairs or removal before the city proceeds with abatement and possible special assessment.
