Public Works briefed council on water plan, DOT roundabout and Warwick building caution area

Public Works staff provided several operational updates to the Colfax City Council on Jan. 5. Hammer said the city is working through specifics of a water improvement plan and confirmed the Department of Transportation will move forward with a roundabout project this spring.
Hammer also described safety measures placed at the Warwick building, saying the city put cones and caution tape "as a courtesy" because concrete could fall into the flood-control area, and that neither the State nor the landowner has accepted responsibility for remediation. Councilor Sevedge asked about the caution tape and suggested alerting the public to the potential hazard; Hammer said the matter is at a standstill pending a responsible party stepping forward.
