Police Chief Michael Melcher reported two candidates are currently in the background process and noted Officers Perry Tate and Cody Johnson are attending crisis intervention training this week. City Administrator Matt Hammer told the council WSDOT’s roundabout design is about 60% complete and the project is expected to go out for bids in spring 2026.
Finance Director Amanda Link said she is starting year‑end wrap up work. Link and Building official Shawn McSweeney are finalizing paperwork to process final payments from a Department of Commerce grant and an RCO grant related to the pool project. Link also noted the city’s new phone system is up and running while staff work out remaining glitches.
Council did not take action on the department reports but heard staff updates and will receive follow‑up materials as projects progress.
