LACSD: PFAS treatment plans near completion; initial influent tests show elevated PFOS and PFOA

The Lake Arrowhead Community Services District reported progress on its PFAS treatment project at the March 17 Executive Committee meeting. General Manager Catherine Cerri said plans for equipment to treat PFAS are approaching 90% completion and that staff will bring a Notice of Exemption under CEQA to the Board to finalize a state financial agreement.
Cerri also reported that results from the first flush of wastewater influent showed elevated levels of PFOS and PFOA, similar to prior findings; results from the raw water sample had not been returned at the time of the meeting. The General Manager noted a reduction in claims for the PFAS Water Filter Rebate Program and that hydrant maintenance logs for 2024 will be included in the GM report.
