Thompson suggested the commission consider a process to re‑zone subdivided parcels so zoning better reflects post‑development land use, and she raised the topic of AI data centers and how the town might address them in zoning and the town plan.
Commissioners noted the difference between FLU maps (regional planning guidance) and the town’s zoning maps (local regulation) and said the two documents need not match exactly. The commission did not take an immediate formal action on re‑zoning or AI data centers during this meeting.
