Sewer and road projects: Nutter Fort engineer reports funding, timelines and outstanding permits

During the March 25 meeting the town engineer updated council on multiple infrastructure projects. For Phase IV sewer work the engineer reported $104,818.22 remains for an additive alternate at Sandy’s Hardware and noted contractor quotes of $132,000 and $172,000 have been received; the engineer said right-of-way needs and a pending PSC case remain items to resolve before moving ahead.
The LifePoint sewer project is on hold while the CWSRF IUP form has been submitted. For the Route 20 corridor the contractor plans to start work in June 2025 and a future change order will be needed to account for a winter shutdown in contract time. On AMD work, Phase I closeout documents are pending; Phase II NEPA environmental assessment has been updated and will go to OSM for final approval after correspondence from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The engineer recorded design milestones: 60% conceptual design submitted 3/21/2025, 90% design targeted 4/18/2025 and final design submission 4/30/2025; mailers to residents and WVDOH coordination have started.
