Fire chief outlines multi-day park event, praises interagency response to recent water rescue

Fire Chief Jeremy Haddix told the council that Cartoon Headquarters will hold a three-day event in the park in late May or early June. The department will provide multiple daily fire-training demonstrations, cover the cost of the training, and intends to hold a presentation honoring first responders, nurses, military and veterans on the Friday of the event.
Chief Haddix also reported that a recent water rescue required a coordinated response by Fire, EMS and Public Works and that a life was saved. Deputy Chief/EMS Supervisor Nathan Rohrbough said he is working to establish a Knox Program for commercial properties to improve emergency access; additional information will be provided in the future.
