Remote resident Derek Dickinson told the council he continues to observe concerning activity at a property he identified as 109 5th Avenue, including a recent incident where a man allegedly wielded a hatchet and smashed objects in public; police responded to the scene, Dickinson said.
"Last week there was an incident... some gentleman at the property having a verbal altercation with a woman outside, wielding a hatchet in his hand," Dickinson said, and he asked what the city council is doing about the property and other nearby blighted locations that appear to be attracting criminal behavior.
The council had no questions during the public-comment period. Later in the meeting the council entered executive session for legal guidance regarding 109 5th Avenue; the executive session concluded with no formal action taken and the meeting adjourned at 8:52 p.m.
