District plans telecom consolidation to two providers to simplify service and cut costs

Catherine Cerri told the committee the District currently uses five telecommunications service providers and is moving to consolidate to two vendors, ABSS and Frontier, to standardize equipment across all District sites, expand services and reduce costs.
Cerri said a contract with Frontier will be on the Action Calendar for Board approval. "This consolidation is expected to result in a cost savings to the District and expanded services," she said, and staff will standardize all District sites to simplify operations and troubleshooting.
