Board hears operations updates on Paleo Park bench, retention mowing and EDRA construction

The Board received an operations update covering park amenities, retention-area mowing and a construction encroachment into an EDRA (environmental drainage retention area).
Chair Kathleen Lonergan asked whether an additional bench had been installed at Paleo Park; Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz said he would check with Gary. Gatz confirmed that mowing schedules for different retention areas had been adjusted and cautioned that it will take time to evaluate whether the changes are sufficient. Regarding a homeowner’s construction project reportedly encroaching on the EDRA, Gatz said he confirmed the homeowner obtained proper permits and approvals; the Board will wait until construction is complete to determine whether any erosion issues arise.
Staff requested time to monitor the retention-area mowing adjustments and to inspect the reported encroachment after project completion. No enforcement action was recorded at the Oct. 15 meeting.
