Residents ask board to remove dead trees, debris along Rolling Hills Loop and Heritage Point Drive

During the public-comment portion of the Feb. 18 meeting, resident Tom Martin asked about the CDD’s plans for Rolling Hills Loop and reported a dead tree near the edge of his property at 18906 Rolling Hills Loop that has been there "two or three years" and is an eyesore. Chair Kathleen Lonergan said the District Engineer had coordinated with Environmental Solutions to clean up the wetland perimeter where appropriate and that the engineer would need to investigate the specific tree and follow up with grounds superintendent Tim Gatz.
Resident Don Brothers separately reported a hazardous tree behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive that he said is an invasive species and was significantly damaged by recent hurricanes; he also said a previous owner placed a debris pile on CDD land. Supervisor Stephen Putman inspected the area and photographed the pile. The board placed related A‑Z Tree Service estimates on the agenda; the board subsequently approved a $600 stump-grind estimate for 11453 Heritage Point Drive at the same meeting.
