Supervisor Michael Walsh (Assistant Secretary) made the motion, and Supervisor Stephen Putman (Assistant Secretary) seconded it; the motion carried with all supervisors voting in favor.
The action followed public comment by resident Don Brothers, who said the tree is an invasive species and that recent hurricanes significantly damaged it, and after Supervisor Putman inspected and photographed the site. The board had three A‑Z proposals on the agenda: a $350 clean-up and trim behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive, the $600 remove-with-stump-grind estimate that was approved, and a $5,475 forestry-mulch proposal for the pond area at Waterlily Lane and Rolling Hills Loop. District Manager Chuck Adams explained the different methods proposed by A‑Z and by Environmental Solutions, noting the forestry mulcher grinds everything while hand work is more selective.
"On MOTION by Mr. Walsh and seconded by Mr. Putman, with all in favor, the A‑Z Tree Service, LLC estimate to Remove with Stump Grind Behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive, in the amount of $600, was approved," the minutes record. The approved work responds to resident concerns about a debris pile and a potentially hazardous tree; staff will coordinate scheduling and follow-up with grounds staff Tim Gatz.
The board did not act on the larger forestry-mulch proposal at this meeting; related estimates remain under consideration and may return to a future agenda.
