Highway Foreman Shane Heath told the Select Board the highway crew needs a Sharp quick-change system for the grader that allows one person to change blades in about 15 minutes instead of the current three-hour process requiring two people. The system includes four blade styles that Heath said will reduce chattering bumps on town roads.
The set-up cost presented to the board was $4,431.20. Denis Royer moved to purchase the Sharp system for the grader at that price; Tim Simpson seconded and the motion passed.
The board recorded the purchase decision; implementation and installation will be handled by the Highway Department.
