Selectmen award $2,500 painting contract for RTC office, set two summer recycling days

The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously July 22 to accept Stebbins Spectacular Painting's $2,500 quote to paint the RTC office exterior and to authorize additional carpentry repairs at an hourly rate of $65. Selectman Pitt made the motion to accept the lower quote over a $6,500 bid from T.G. Remodeling LLC, and Selectman Nelson seconded; the vote was unanimous.
The board also announced two free recycling events at the RTC: appliance recycling on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, and tire recycling on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026. No further budget allocations for the RTC painting were recorded beyond approval of the contract and authorization for carpentry work at the stated rate.
