Animal Control Officer Candace Dane told the Select Board that residents have complained about a cow being loose on Route 5A at the Rumbinus property. She said the animal belongs to Jake Rolfe and that, despite her contacts, Lenny Rumbinus has not secured the cow in a fenced area.
Dane told the board she has limited authority over livestock and requested the town attorney send a certified stern letter to Mr. Rumbinus and possibly begin legal proceedings if compliance does not follow. "This is a safety concern for drivers and the cow," Dane said. The board agreed to have the town attorney draft and send the letter and to consider further legal options if the situation persists.
