Facilities Director Dustin Muzzey reviewed upcoming Unitil published rates and recommended the Board consider a one‑year fixed contract to reduce exposure to projected winter increases. Muzzey reported Unitil's G1 variable rate is favorable through summer but is projected to rise from $0.09887 per kWh to $0.15709 per kWh in December and to $0.18236 per kWh in January; G2 accounts are expected to increase from $0.11253 to $0.133037 per kWh. CPCNH rates are expected between $0.147 and $0.153 per kWh for August through January.
NextEra Energy Advisors (formerly USource) secured a one‑year fixed rate of $0.12145 per kWh beginning November 2026 through November 2027 with Constellation New Energy. The Board voted 3–0 to approve the one‑year fixed contract, noting the decision allows the County to take advantage of favorable Unitil rates through summer and assess the County solar array's projected savings before making longer‑term commitments.
