Board sets FY27 proposed millage rates; first public hearing scheduled for Sept. 15

Timothy Jeks of the Office of Management and Budget presented the county's Truth in Millage (TRIM) materials and the proposed FY27 millage rates to the commission.
"The proposed millage rates are 5.3751 mills for the general fund, 2.7649 mills for the Fire District, and 0.1107 mills for the Road District," Jeks said, adding that the proposed rates are the same as the current rates and will be used in notices mailed to property owners in August. The board approved the proposed rates and scheduled the first public hearing for Sept. 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the BCC Chambers.
Commissioners noted the board could reduce rates at public hearings but not increase them; staff confirmed the schedule and mailing plan.
