The Winner School District 59-2 Board of Education accepted a series of resignations and authorized offers for multiple 2026–2027 contracts at its May 11 meeting.
Resignations approved included Shelby Sherard (4th grade teacher), Lexie Stenson (Preschool Special Education teacher), Kody Assman (Special Education paraprofessional), LaGrande Woods (HOSA advisor), and Valerie Ewing (High School Counselor and advisor roles). The board moved to approve and thank those staff members for their years of service (motion by Scott Meiners, second Rusty Blare).
The board approved offers of employment to several candidates for 2026–2027: Stephanie Schuyler as Special Education Director/Special Education Teacher; Justin Schuyler as Special Education Teacher; Heide E. Pura as Elementary Music teacher/Elementary Vocal Director; Ben Connot as 6th grade English Language Arts teacher and athletic coach; Keely Connot as 4th grade teacher; and Maggie Schuyler as first grade teacher. Motions to offer contracts carried as recorded in the minutes.
These personnel actions finalize staffing decisions for the next school year and will be reflected in the district’s published staff roster once new hires accept and complete required onboarding steps.
