Resident urges Riverside to publish ward-level housing dashboard and to study public banking

Janice Ruths of Mission Grove used public comment time to congratulate the mayor and new councilmember and to press the council on two specific items: a ward-level project dashboard and exploration of public banking.
Ruths said she wanted the council to "show what's done, show what's in the hopper that might be done, show that by ward" so residents can see active projects and help. She urged the council to "seriously look at public banking," arguing it could provide revenue and leverage for local projects without raising taxes.
Ruths also suggested the interim city manager may need additional compensation for the extra duties the role will carry; she framed these requests as ways for residents to partner with the council rather than act as adversaries.
