Representatives of the Choose Kindness organization presented a proclamation declaring February as Choose Kindness Month and outlined planned community activities. Brook Allen described personal motivation for the effort and urged residents to participate in school and community kindness initiatives.
Ms. Allen read the proclamation and a quote included in it: "When you match your compassion with your purpose, it enables us to change the world. This can be done with a simple smile, a text at the right moment, or an act of service: a simple act of kindness." Organizers asked the City to publicize events, including a care-kit assembly on Feb. 22 at the Recreation Center and a community-wide event on Feb. 26 at Pleasant Grove High School where Pleasant Grove will be certified as a City of Kindness by One Kind Act a Day.
