Commission flags chestnut re-caging and removal of a dead parking-lot tree

Jeff Abbe reported that several chestnut trees in the Weir Road Forest are growing out of their protective cages and will need to be uncaged and re-caged in the fall. He said he will handle re-caging in the autumn season.
Todd Flanagan noted a dead tree at the parking lot that appears likely to fall and asked whether it could be removed. Betsey McNaughten suggested that Town Forester Charlie Niebling perform the removal when available. The Commission agreed to include these maintenance tasks in fall planning and to coordinate with the forester and volunteers on timing.
