Boscawen commission plans Walker Pond map overhaul; QR-code use debated

Jeff Abbe presented a marked-up Walker Pond map and urged a redo of the kiosk map to include the new trail and orientation to Water Street. He suggested adding a QR code linking to the trail map; Abbe noted the Commission already uses QR codes for ConCom materials and the trail map.
Chair Aurel Mihai cautioned that QR codes can break if links are changed or servers move, and Gary Tillman said he was not a fan of relying on QR codes. The Commission agreed to proceed with a better Walker Pond map on the kiosk, ask Ashton at Avitar to produce updated maps, and have Todd Flanagan supply GPS coordinates to support digital mapping and printed signage.
Members also discussed whether the new map content should be mirrored on the town website and awaited the PCD staff's upcoming street-grid map for consistent orientation; staff indicated that Chadwick Hill would be included.
