Pleasant Grove City Council on Jan. 21, 2025, adopted Resolution 2025‑04 authorizing purchase of approximately 2.566 acres of the Nymer property near Kiwanis Park in partnership with The Trust for Public Land (TPL) to preserve open space. City Attorney Tina Petersen and Public Works Director Neal Winterton briefed the council on the appraisal and site features; the property appraisal came in at $210,000 and council had previously approved a $130,000 budget amendment toward the purchase.
Director Winterton said feasibility and rough numbers for site improvements would be discussed at a future budget planning meeting. Council Member Eric Jensen asked which areas of the site were flat; Director Winterton confirmed portions of the parcel are already owned by the city and identified flat areas during the briefing. The council voted unanimously to adopt the resolution to proceed with the purchase.
