Council consents to Alpine School District CTE house sale to allow program to continue

The Pleasant Grove City Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2025‑03 on Jan. 21, 2025, consenting to the sale of a house built by Alpine School District’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program at 765 South 800 West in Orem. City Attorney Tina Petersen explained that because of a pending school‑district reorganization, cities within the new district boundary must approve the sale of the District’s assets located within city limits to allow the CTE program to continue its annual home build cycle.
Attorney Petersen said the sale does not affect ongoing district services and that the Alpine School District will continue to operate until July 1, 2027; proceeds from the CTE sale are typically used to fund the following year’s build. Council Member Dianna Andersen moved to adopt Resolution 2025‑03 and Council Member Cyd LeMone seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
