The council authorized a $1.2 million amendment to the city’s FY 2025–26 HUD Annual Action Plan to allocate unprogrammed CDBG funds to four Parks and Recreation projects.
Michelle Guzman of the Housing & Human Services Department outlined the proposed allocations: $175,000 for Bobby Bonds skatepark improvements; $250,000 to replace flooring at the Janet Goeske Senior Center; $500,000 for Sippy Woodhead Pool pump‑room rehabilitation; and $340,000 for Tim Strack Park lighting and fitness equipment, totaling $1,200,000. Guzman explained the city must keep CDBG reserves below 1.5 times the most recent allocation to avoid recapture, and these projects target income‑eligible neighborhoods in specified wards.
Council moved, seconded and approved the amendment; staff were authorized to execute memoranda of understanding and record supplemental appropriations upon MOU execution.
