The Board of Public Utilities celebrated the department’s employees of the year for 2025 during its July 13 meeting. General Manager David Garcia and division leaders presented awards to staff across energy delivery, water, customer engagement and business systems for work ranging from system reliability projects to improvements in asset management and public outreach.
Daniel Honeyfield, assistant general manager for energy delivery, introduced recipients from his division, noting projects such as the 4 kV-to-12 kV conversion program and a citywide LED streetlight conversion of more than 25,000 fixtures. Robin Glenny (assistant general manager of water) recognized Pascual Mendiville for leadership on maintenance and SCADA assets. Staff emphasized these awards recognize operational reliability, safety leadership, and long-term contributions to the utility’s work.
