The district also accepted a $70,000 Energy Modernization in Schools (GEMS) grant from Imperial Irrigation District intended to fund energy-related upgrades and support air-conditioning units, and a $28,640 Public Green Space grant from IID. Staff said grant funds would be used to modernize facilities and support transportation electrification plans; specific implementation plans and timelines will be developed by staff and returned to the board for review.
