The board approved the Title I LEA-Level Parent and Family Engagement Policy for 2025–26 after Trustee Raul Navarro asked staff to remove a reference to the Family Resource Center because it is not currently operational. Trustee R. Navarro also requested that the district add evidence-based strategies such as School Site Council and DELAC engagement. The motion to approve was made by Trustee Raul Navarro and seconded by Trustee Diego Navarro; the motion passed by roll call with five ayes and two absent trustees.
Trustees directed staff to update the district website with Title I information and to identify concrete parent engagement steps. The policy package was submitted as reference materials (Ref VI M (1-9)) and will be posted on the district site as part of the 2025–26 Title I documentation.
